It’s giving less leap, more see-saw....

I daydreamed about leaving my agency job long before I actually did.

I could see the life I wanted so clearly. More freedom. Work that felt like mine. Clients I actually cared about. A way of creating that matched how I moved through the world.

But I wasn’t ready to fully leap.

I didn’t have a full client roster. I didn’t know if it would work. I didn’t have the nervous system for an all-or-nothing jump.

So instead, I found a middle ground.

When I gave notice, I stayed on as a contractor. Just enough stability to support me while I started building something of my own.

It became a kind of see-saw. One end rooted in what I knew, the other learning how to hold something new, forming. And that was the thing that made it possible to turn the daydreaming into reality.

We often know where we’re going. We can feel the shift. There’s a new depth, a new direction, a new way we want to show up, create, move.

But we’re not ready to fully claim it yet.

It can feel like too big of a leap. Too jarring of a step. Like trying to cross a large canyon in one big jump.

When clients come to me at this point of transition, what we often create together is a brand that can see-saw with them.

Something that meets you where you are, while making space for what’s next. A visual and verbal system that can stretch with you. That lets you try on new language, new edges, new expressions without needing to fully overhaul your life in the process.

Because you’re never building a brand for a single moment in time. You’re building something that can hold your transformation and evolving expression as you go.

What see-saw can you create to safely move from one version of you to the next?

Cheers!
Sara

The Brand Passage

My brand identity and website experiences are now booking for June start dates.

If you’re entering a new chapter and want support translating that shift into a clear, resonant brand, the best first step is to book a Meet + Greet Call. We’ll talk through where you are and what kind of container would best support the work ahead.

Field Notes from Sara

A peek behind the scenes of what’s been happening at Good + Ready and in life lately:

📚Reading: Still On Our Best Behavior… guys, this is a must-read. I’m thinking about starting a little book club around it. On the lighter side, also reading Highland Fling.

🎧 Listening to: We’re Alive, a zombie apocalypse podcast that started in 2009. Very satisfying to have years of episodes to work through, it feels like it will never run out

👀 Watching: Paradise on Hulu. Loving this second season and the little vignettes into side characters’ journeys.

Working on: Diving into website design for two clients this week. There’s something very satisfying for my Capricorn brain about taking brand elements and giving them structure and place. Making it all make sense.

🌱 Planning: Jenn and I have been working on booking parts of a trip to Japan in October. I’ve even been working on learning Japanese via Duolingo.

🎉 Excited for: My parents are visiting from Minnesota this weekend. Bacon and Elvis are especially excited for the premium cuddles from grandparents who think they can do no wrong.
