I’ve been thinking about what it means to own your expertise, especially as a solopreneur.
Lately, I’ve been realizing how much I’ve hidden behind my own studio name. Good + Ready is my space and my body of work, but at the end of the day it’s still me. I’m the one designing, strategizing, and guiding clients through the process. For a long time I thought that was a branding question. Now I starting to see it’s really about expertise and ownership. Am I letting myself be visible for what I actually do and know?
Like most things, this has been coming up a lot in client conversations too. So many of us wrestle with whether to build a brand around ourselves or something bigger. It feels safer to say “we” instead of “I.”
One thing that’s helped me find some still evolving clarity is revisiting my ReadyType. Knowing that it’s a map to how I best guide, create, and connect helps me come back to what I do best and trust it.

A peek behind the scenes of what’s been happening at Good + Ready and in life lately:
- I kicked off a new project with a client using Rebel energy to change how designers source cabinetry. It feels exciting to build something that challenges the norms.
- A handful of long-term projects are wrapping up, and it’s been so satisfying to see all this deep identity work come to life. Lots of work to share coming up.
- Personally, I’m in full fall mode. Lots of hikes, old fashioneds, cozy soups, sweaters, and candles. I’m soaking it in.
